    Western Airlines (WAL) was founded in 1925 and was a major US airline based in California, with operations throughout the western US, Alaska, Hawaii and western Canada. Delta Air Lines acquired WAL in 1987. For auction a brochure for travel and touring Los Angeles and Pasadena; it is dated March 1959. Western, like other airlines of the time, packaged flights and hotels with tours to increase its vacation traffic. Western offered all-DC6B prop airplane flights. Travelers could choose between the Sheraton-West Hotel in Los Angeles or the Huntington-Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena. Land tours included trips to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, movie studios, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and San Diego
