Larrea tridentata is known as creosote bush and greasewood as a plant, chaparral as a medicinal herb, and as "gobernadora" in Mexico, Spanish for "governess," due to its ability to secure more water by inhibiting the growth of nearby plants.

The Native Americans made a tea out of it and used Creosote as a medicinal herb for lots of things , arthritis , diabetes , snake bite , chicken pox . I have read lots of things that this is good for I've even read it strengthens the cells that can cause cancer , you should look it up it shows lots of  things it helps . I haven't fully researched it yet, nor am I a doctor , but it's very interesting.
It is NOT FDA approved.
This is also used because of the scent after it rains in the desert , the desert puts off this wonderful scent that is brought on by the wet Creosote . You can hang it in your shower to give that wonderful scent , or on the back porch during a rain .  Some make soap out of it
