    Description

    This is a very fine old Reading Hardware Company #78 Mechanical APPLE PEELER.   Made in Reading, PA.  It's an amazing piece of 19th Century technology and manufacturing.   Lots of gears and sprockets.  It's fun to watch in operation and is complete and in working condition.  I didn't put an apple on it but I'm sure it will still work perfectly.  Has several patent dates with 1877 being the latest.  Turned wood knob handle.  Excellent original condition with a little light surface rust and only needs a little clean-up and oiling to be into operation again.
