Antique Silver Plated F. B. Rogers Ash Box/Catcher Inscribed "MAJOR AB ADVERSIS"
This is a
silver plated ash box/ash catcher by F.B. Rogers. It has an inscription of "MAJOR AB ADVERSIS" on the lid with a picture of an opposing stag and unicorn. It includes a seashell flip on the lid and a wooden handle.
The
piece
is 4 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3" and with the handle is 4 1/4" x 1 1/2 x 7".
The piece is marked "F.B. ROGERS SILVERPLATE" and with a sticker that reads "Tarnish-Resistant / Clean with soft damp Cloth / No Silver Polish / Japan" on the back. It is also inscribed with "MAJOR AB ADVERSIS" on the front center of the lid.
The piece is in very good antique condition with only slight tarnishing on the lid and little to no wear.
