    Description

I am the original owner of this high-end Heidelberg Saphir HiRes moveable flatbed scanner. Features include a two lens system: Lens 1 has an optical resolution of 1220 x 1220 with scaling of 1% - 400% and scannable area of 215mm - 297mm (A4 size). Lens 2 has an optical resolution of 3048 x 3048 with scaling of 1% - 1000% and aa scanning area of 86mm x 297mm.
The scanner is in excellent cosmetic/physical condition. It has never been abused in any manner: never banged, dropped or treated in anyway throughout it's life other than for just what it is: a very expensive (around 00 new), highly accurate and delicate piece of electronic production quality equipment. It has no abrasions, scraps, dents, dings etc. What you see in the pictures is what you will receive.
The Heidelberg Saphir HiRes is designed to provide hi resolution, Drum Scanner quality captures of both transparencies and flat art with a compact footprint. The moveable scanning bed moves out and across the CCD image capture source providing far more sharpness than more traditional scanners that use a moving scanner head capture source. In other words, this scanner moves the image across the scanner head rather than moving the scanner head across the image. If you are unfamiliar with how this scanner works, you can search "saphir hires" on youtube to see it in action.
As stated above, the unit was working when taken out of production. I no longer have anyway of doing a test scan however it passed it's self-test upon powering up and the scanning light source is working and lights up (a replacement bulb is pricy so this is something a buyer would want to know). That said, the unit is being sold as is; no returns.
This sale include the Scanner, owner transferable Lasersoft Silverfast AI Scanning Software (that may need to be upgraded), an Adaptec SCSI card and SCSI cable with Adaptec installation guide, the owners manuals for both the scanner and the Lasersoft software that included the Silverfast Feature CD, along with a myriad of other documentation and software that includes NewColor 4000 Scan software and documentation, Linocolor Elite 6.0, View Open ICC, Cumulus 5, all told, 15 discs of associated Heidelberg/Linotype software and around seven manuals. Also included are two Kodak Q-60 Color Input Targets (for calibrating scanner, software and monitor), one for paper (5x7 target) and one for transparencies (4x5 target).
Also, if you want them, I will include a partial bottle (more than half) of Kami SMF 2001 Scanner Mounting Fluid and six cans of varying fullness of Tetanal Anti-Newton spray. Keep in mind that the spray cans are aerosol and that they may not be legally shippable; if they aren't, they won't be included. But I believe ground is ok.
Shipping is via Fedex ground. This is heavy scanner with shipping weight coming in at 50 lbs, so please use the shipping calculator to your location prior to bidding. The Ebay shipping calculator does not include insurance so this has been added as a "handling charge."
