Extremely rare, this primitive peeler for fruits and vegetables is from the early 1900s. The turned wooden handle has the original orange paint. No splits or splinters. Still tight where the blade in inserted.
The ferrous blade is angled and fixed. It has been cleaned but not so much as to completely remove the rust (pre-dates stainless steel). The blade is dull. he company name STERLING is engraved on the blade head in old-style script (visible in photo 6).
A great conversation piece in farmhouse, country or rustic decor. A unique gift for the collector of vintage kitchen tools.
