(possibly a pen nib holder?) There is a carved squirrel glued to the top of the box and says North Syracuse, N.Y. on the side. It shows some wear and soil. I do not clean collectibles, but leave that to new owner/expert. The box measures approximately 3 1/4 x 1 x 2 1/4 inches.
