    Description

You are bidding on a working Nikon LS-2000 slide/film scanner with accessories in the original box.
Nikon's LS-2000 is an excellent choice for small to medium batches of 35mm slides or 35mm strip film (positive or negative).  It has a maximum resolution of 2700dpi, which is enough to render full frame images at 4K video resolution.  It is capable of 12-bit color depth and 16-bit B/W depth, enough for all but the most demanding professional work.  Nikon's software offers tools to customize your scans, including multiple passes, analog gain controls for each color channel, sharpening, and ICE digital dust and scratch elimination.
This LS-2000 can be used with Macintosh or PC computers that have a SCSI interface.  I used this one with a Macintosh G4 "mirror door" computer running Nikon's Version 3.1 software under OS 9.2 in native mode.  It is possible that Nikon's later Version 4 software, VueScan, or other 3rd party software could drive this scanner under OS-X, but I have not tried that.  Check it out on Google.
Nikon says that this scanner can be used with most Windows PC's having a SCSI card, but you will have to research the system requirements to be sure that your PC can operate this scanner.  An Adaptec AVA-2903B PCI SCSI card is included in this auction (see photo 8).
This particular LS-2000 is serial number 203264.  It was cleaned and lubricated by eBay seller
    nikon-scanner-pro
in 2015, and I have been using it to scan slides
    without problems
since then.  Photo 2 shows a slide scan in progress and photo 3 is the actual finished scan as produced by the scanner from my original slide just before creating this listing.
So why am I selling this scanner?
I needed a scanner that could handle a much larger volume of slides.  The LS-2000 was designed for moderate use and performs most reliably when operated in the vertical position (as shown in the photos).  An LS-2000 is an excellent choice if you want to scan slides or negatives occasionally or in small batches.  LS-2000 scanners typically cost less than a quarter of the cost of higher volume production scanners.
This auction includes the LS-2000 scanner shown, a power cord, an MA-20 slide holder for scanning individual mounted 35mm slides, an SA-20 film holder for scanning 35mm strip film, an Adaptec SCSI card, a SCSI cable, Nikon software, and an original LS-2000 manual.  Everything ships in the original Nikon box.  Please see the first photo for everything that is included and the other photos for closeups.
A PDF of the Nikon manual and
    the latest version of
Nikon's software for the LS-2000 (for both Macintosh and PC computers) are both available for download to your computer at the Nikon website -- Just Google
    "Nikon LS-2000 manual"
and "Nikon LS-2000 software" to find them.  I would recommend that you install the latest available NikonScan software for your computer rather the software on the included DVD.
Please see my other listings for a compatible Nikon SF-200(S) bulk slide feeder.
